How PTLV began...

In 1994, Praise Tabernacle started with 6 people consisting of 5 family members and 1 guest. With meager beginnings, our church has been a shining light to the hurting of our community.

Today, we are a strong, vibrant, and exciting fellowship of believers that loves our community! We hold fast to the belief that Christ died for everyone: the homeless, widowed, those rejected by society, and even those who seem to have it all together.

God is no respecter of persons and neither are we. We are a church made up of people from diverse backgrounds. In our diversity we find common ground; we are all sinners saved by grace.

Praise Tabernacle is currently in a building project: the future home of our church.

Worship at Praise Tabernacle

WE WELCOME YOU!

Thinking of Visiting?

We invite you to attend one of our praise and worship services and you too will experience the glory of God as he inhabits the praises of His people.

Every single person is welcomed in Praise Tabernacle. It doesn't matter how young or old, rich or poor, whether you think you have your life together or not. Acts 10:34 states, "...God is no respecter of persons." (KJV) That means you don't have to be or feel qualified to walk through those front doors, God will welcome you and so will the church. That's not only our culture but God's culture.

We welcome you to the church family and hope to see you there!

Do you have a need?

Where You Don't Have A Past, Only A Future!

What does that mean to PTLV?

When you walk into our church, you are not defined by what you have done, where you have been or who you used to be. Why? Because we have a fresh start in Christ!

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

WHAT WE BELIEVE

All Scriptures quoted from the King James Version. Tap any statement to read it in full.

EXPLORED 1 / 6

The Bible is God's Word. God used human writers, but every word came from Him. It is our final authority. It tells us what is true, how to live, and how to be saved. Everything we believe comes from it.

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

2 TIMOTHY 3:16

There is only one God. He made everything, He knows everything, He can do anything, and He is everywhere at all times. Born of the virgin Mary, Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the one true God manifest in the flesh, fully God and fully man. That same God lives and works in His people today as the Holy Spirit.

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD."

DEUTERONOMY 6:4

Sin is anything that goes against God, and every one of us has sinned. Sin separates us from God, and we cannot fix that on our own. No amount of being good can erase it. But God loves us, and salvation is His gift. It comes by His grace, we receive it through faith, and He has shown us exactly how: by obeying the gospel.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

ROMANS 6:23

"Gospel" means good news: Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, He was buried, and on the third day He rose again. Today He is alive, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. God invites us not just to believe the gospel, but to obey it. When we repent, turning from sin and turning to God, we die to our old life. When we are baptized in water, fully immersed, in the name of Jesus Christ, our sins are washed away and we are buried with Him. And when God fills us with the gift of the Holy Spirit, we rise to a new life, speaking in tongues as the sign, just like the first believers. That plan was first preached on the Day of Pentecost, and it has never changed, and that is why we are called Apostolic.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

ACTS 2:38

("Holy Ghost" is the King James way of saying Holy Spirit.)

When God saves you, He changes you. The Bible calls this holiness, being set apart for God, inside and out: His grace changing our hearts and the way we live, speak, and carry ourselves. It is a whole way of life: loving God and loving people, prayer and worship, sharing our faith, faithfulness to our families, honest work, and giving our time, talent, and treasure to God's Kingdom. And we were never meant to live it alone. Jesus established one church, His body and His bride, and every believer needs to be planted in it.

"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord."

HEBREWS 12:14

Jesus is coming back. A trumpet will sound, those who died in Christ will rise first, and believers still alive will be caught up with them to meet the Lord in the air, what the church calls the rapture. After that, every person will stand before God and give account of their life: judgment for those who rejected Him, reward for those who lived for Him. In the end, righteousness wins. Sin and death will be gone for good, and the people of God will live with Him forever.

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

About the Bible

2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Peter 1:20

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

2 Peter 1:21

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

About God and Jesus

Deuteronomy 6:4

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

2 Corinthians 13:14

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

1 Timothy 1:17

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Timothy 3:16

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

1 Timothy 6:13-16

I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Colossians 2:9

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

About the Gospel

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Acts 2:1-4

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 2:38-39

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

Acts 10:38-40

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

Acts 10:44-48

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Romans 6:3-4

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

About Christian Living

Ephesians 4:21

If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

2 Timothy 2:19

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Hebrews 12:14

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Romans 12:1-2

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Colossians 3:1-2

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

1 Corinthians 12:12-13

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Ephesians 4:1-3

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

About the Future

1 Corinthians 15:51-55

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Romans 14:10-12

But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

2 Thessalonians 1:6-10

Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

Revelation 20:12 to 21:8

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
